Dr. M.J. Shankar Raman

Dr. M. J. Shankar Raman completed his B. E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, the University of Madras, M. Sc. (Engg.) from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore and Ph. D. from IIT Madras. After graduation, Shankar Raman started his career as Senior Engineer (R&D) at Wipro Infotech Limited. He worked with the team which converted the System V release 4 to a multiprocessor operating system. Later, he worked on the ETHERNET card designed by Wipro Infotech R&D. In 1996, he was deputed to the HCL Cisco offshore Development Centre, the first Offshore Development Centre established by Cisco Systems in India and started working in Network Management. Later he worked in the area of Network Security. During this period, he published a patent on network security to deflect DDoS attacks and a paper on Software Testing. Shankar Raman moved to IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation as Chief Manager of Technical in January 2021 and has assumed the CEO role since September 2021. He has publications in Networking, Internet Power consumption, Computer Architecture, VLSI and software testing.
