Asha Kiran, Deputy General Manager (IT) KIOCL, has over 24 years of experience in the Process Industry. She holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electronics & Communication) and an M.Sc degree in Engineering (Computer Science) by Research.
Ms Kiran, after her higher studies, worked for MCE Hassan and later joined KIT Tiptur in 1987 and served the institute as the HOD of the E&C department and acting Principle of the Institute till 1993. Later, she joined KIOCL. Ms Kiran specializes in automation and controls, communication systems, and power plants.
She has been honoured with various prestigious awards. For her contributions made for the organisation, Ms Kiran has been conferred the “Best Engineer” Award for the year 2016-17 by KIOCL. Also, she was honoured with a National Award in 2018.
As an IT head, leveraging technology to the company was the main initiative due to which the Artificial Intelligence-based Video conferencing and DSP based Audio systems were initiated by her. She spearheaded the updation of infrastructure to have hassle-free virtual meetings and initiated the implementation of Cloud-based SAP S/4 HANA solution across the organisation.
Ms Kiran had also worked in various levels as an Executive Member/ Member of a number of social and charity organizations like Lions Club International, Sneha Trust Bangalore, Sharana Sahitya Parishat for the betterment of society. Apart from this, Ms Kiran has written many poetries and got articles published in the magazines and newspapers.
As Ms Kiran is concerned for Women and Child Welfare she had worked as Presiding Officer for sexual harassment for women at the workplace, coordinator of WIPS and sponsors education for a girl child each year.
